One player made an Elden Ring boss fight harder for herself by using a harp instead of a controller, and she won.
Being a FromSoftware game, Elden Ring is already insanely challenging as it is. Some players, however, aren’t content with its difficulty and have come up with ways to make things harder for themselves.
As torturous as it sounds, it’s always impressive when they manage to overcome their self-made challenges. Such as one player who won a boss fight by using a harp instead of a regular controller.
This comes courtesy of Anna Ellsworth, whose YouTube channel mostly does harp music covers, including music from Elden Ring – such as its main theme and the final boss theme.
A couple months ago, she uploaded a video explaining how she managed to turn her harp into a video game controller, and she’s demonstrated it in practice with the boss fight against Margit, the Fell Omen.
It certainly wasn’t easy, with Ellsworth admitting that previous attempts saw her accidentally roll off the nearby cliff edge.
She gets smacked around a bit in the attempt she uploaded to her YouTube channel, but she still manages to defeat him in just over two minutes despite the handicap.
She also shared the clip on Reddit, where she explained what notes she used for attacks and dodging, and that she was unable to use any heavy attacks because of her set-up.
‘A for dodge and G for light attack!’ said Ellsworth. ‘To my great sadness, I don’t have a heavy attack string because I needed that real estate for other actions. Maybe the other notes you were hearing were either move forward ©, move backward (F), stop (low G), or heal (low A).
