EA has revealed the logo for EA Sports FC, its new FIFA successor, and shared the first few details on the game.
EA Sports FC, more details on which will be coming in July, will feature the largest leagues and footballing competitions in the world including the Premier League, the Champions League, and La Liga.
Understandably absent is the FIFA World Cup, following the unamicable end to the footballing body’s relationship with EA.
According to EA, the game’s new logo represents the developer’s history making football games. “Our new brand identity is inspired by the triangles that have been part of EA Sports football for the past 30 years, from the isometric polygons that make up our game to the chemistry triangles that exist in Ultimate Team to the player indicator across every match.
“The triangle has revolutionised football again and again since the birth of Total Football in the ’70s, now it can serve as a proud badge for the evolutions of football to come.” Total Football is a footballing philosophy that was popularised by the Dutch club Ajax in the 1970s.
Footballing body FIFA still intends to create football video games following the end of its relationship with EA. Earlier this year it was reported thatFIFA president Gianni Infantino said “The new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best e-game for any girl or boy,” adding: “We will have news on this very soon.”
In November 2022, FIFA announced that the first games to use its branding following the end of its partnership with EA would be four Web 3.0 blockchain titles.
