EA FC and eFootball challenger UFL gets an open beta this weekend
Free-to-play football game UFL will be getting its first Open Beta testing period this weekend.
The game will be available to play between June 7-9 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles.
UFL has been in a closed Alpha testing period since October 2023, but this is the first time all players will be able to access it.
The open beta can be pre-downloaded from thePlayStation Store and Xbox store, ahead of it going live on June 7.
Initially announced at Gamescom in 2021, UFL is being developed by Strikerz Inc, a Cyprus-based developer with five regional offices across Europe. The game has been in development since 2016, and the final release will use Unreal Engine 5.
It was announced in 2023 that Cristiano Ronaldo had invested $40 million into the game’s development.
UFL will be a free-to-play game which will focus on a ‘fair to play’ ideology, in which players will be fairly matched with similarly skilled opponents.
“We at Strikerz Inc have great respect for everything that has been done over the years in football video gaming,” Strikerz Inc CEO Eugene Nashilov said back in 2022.
“But at the same time, we feel that the community has been longing for a change. Our goal at UFL is to create a game that is immune to the issues that are blocking the genre’s progress.”
