Cheryl Burke from Dancing With The Stars has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Matthew Lawrence. Fans of the ABC celebrity competition series have known of Cheryl since the second season aired in 2006. The professional dancer won during her first season alongside singer Drew Lachey. Cheryl continued to appear as a dancer on the show being paired up and wining with a number of different celebrities for the last 16 years.
Since becoming a celebrity herself through DWTS, Cheryl, who wants to be a judge, began dating within the celebrity world. She and Matthew started dating in 2007, through his older brother Joey Lawrence, who competed on DWTS in 2006. Cheryl and Matthew dated for a year before calling it quits on their relationship in 2008. However, they reunited almost ten years later in 2017, and Matthew proposed to her a year later. A year after their engagement, Cheryl and Matthew tied the knot in San Diego. The pair had been through a lot since reuniting, and it seems they were not able to make the marriage work.

In court documents obtained by Page Six, Cheryl, who tested positive for COVID-19, filed for dissolution of marriage without minors from the actor last Friday. The 37-year-old cited "irreconcilable differences" as the legal reason for divorce and listed their separation date as January 7, 2022. At the time the Page Six article was written, neither Cherly nor Matthew had commented on the divorce filing, and their reps had not commented on the situation either. However, the following day, Cheryl addressed the news regarding the end of her marriage. She wrote in an Instagram post, "I know I have always said I’m an open book
