Dusk Diver 2 is quite the unusual game. Most RPGs have some sort of EXP and levelling system that influences how powerful any given character is. This has been a thing since the dawn of the RPG - before the dawn of graphics even. Not all games utilise the same system of course, and Dusk Diver 2 has one of the stranger systems we have seen in recent memory.

Because the system is so unusual - at least compared to most RPG/JRPGs, it can be a bit overwhelming, or even downright confusing. Analysis paralysis certainly struck us, so we compiled a quick breakdown of how the system works, and how to best make use of it during your time in Dusk Diver 2.
First things first, we need to discuss how EXP is gained in Dusk Diver 2. Unlike your typical RPG where everyone gains a fair share of goods, Dusk Diver 2 instead opts for a shared EXP pool. This shared pool is both a blessing and a curse for an early game RPGer.
As you kill enemies, EXP is placed into a pot. This EXP can then be manually given to any character. You could pump every last point into a single character, you could divvy it up between your party - heck you could even use a powerful party to grind EXP and then pour that EXP into a benched character.
It’s an interesting system that leads to a lot of meaningful decisions. Ultimately, how you spend your EXP, and by extension, build your team, is entirely up to you and how you want to play.
