A new trailer for has been revealed by Funcom, alongside a featurette on how the studio has adapted Arrakis for its Open World Survival MMO title. was revealed back in 2022 as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live, but since then, there hasn't been much information surrounding the title.
The new trailer, titled was shown during Funcom's 15-minute Direct showcase and showed the playable character exploring Arrakis, both on foot and using various vehicles and other traversal methods such as piloting the iconic Ornithopter. The trailer also featured iconic imagery such as the sandworms emerging and ended with the playable character coming face-to-face with the Fremen.
Currently, there is no set release date for, but the game will be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and PC, and can be wishlisted on Steam now.
A press release from Funcom that accompanied the showcase also revealed that there is no CGI in any of the videos shown during the showcase, including the game trailer. All Funcom did was hide the user interface for a more cinematic experience that mirrors the feel of the recent movies, but clarified that the footage shown was either directly in-game or in-engine.
As per the featurette shown in the showcase, is set in the movie world of Denis Villeneuve's movie adaptations, with Legendary sharing assets from the films with Funcom from the very beginning of production.
The title has been developed in Unreal Engine 5.2 and clearly seems to be using the features of the powerful game engine such as the Lumen lighting system and the virtualized geometry system Nanite to create an impressive visual experience.
