The popular Nintendo DS emulator, NooDs, is now available on Google Play. It’s not free like the original release, but is a heck of a lot more convenient for only $1.
NooDs is well known for running on a wide variety of platforms, including Android, Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch.
You probably need to mod your Switch to run it though, as Nintendo isn’t generally a fan of emulation that it doesn’t own.
The Google Play version effectively removes the need to provide storage management permissions, making that first install super easy.
Other than that, it’s NooDs as you know and love it. It supports all Nintendo DS games and Game Boy Advance via backwards compatibility.
You can tweak loads of features, including the touch control layout, and where the two screens appear. It supports horizontal or vertical display on your phone, too.
It’s not quite a feature complete emulator though, as it doesn’t support DSi emulation. For those, you need to look at melonDS or DraStic.
If you’d like to try before you buy, you can still grab the free version right now from GitHub.
As ever, you download and use an emulator at your own risk. Droid Gamers does not take responsibility for any issues that result due to its use.
Remember: emulators are not official products, and are created by extremely talented third party developers.
