Welcome to another review by the resident old folk Loki, “with a few edits from Lee” today we are going to have a look into Drill Deal – Oil Tycoon.
Drill Deal is a pixeled simulation where you control and plan every aspect of your oil rig, the guys at A2 software have created a nice and easy user-friendly game that works pretty well and is easy to navigate.
The start of the game is quite pleasant and easy going as the tutorial really helps understand the games mechanics, showing how and where you’ll need to place those first parts of your rig and soon enough, you’ll understand the working environment and how to upgrade your tech and hiring and selection of your staff for their duties.
The rig is the backbone of the game where you need to think about placements of your buildings and staff facilities, similar to a city building simulator but on a much smaller scale, a little forethought or experience is really going to help you streamline your operations as staff will waste far less time and your drilling dreams will be much more efficient.
Staff you hire have certain skills and traits so picking the correct person for the job at hand is another way to ensure things run smoothly, but the overall concept is to keep things running well, maximise efficiency and make more money to keep those upgrades rolling in.
Cash is king and to progress your operation you’ll need money to do this so get you team to harvest everything you can get from the sea and the surrounding areas.
It does ring a resemblance to some other pixelated simulation titles, especially some of the tycoon games from Kairosoft on mobile, so while I never really felt like I was getting anywhere near a next-gen experience, That doesn’t mean there’s plenty of game
