Let's just get this out of the way first: whichever character Rook chooses to lead the distraction in "" will die. They'll fight nobly, and ultimately succeed in distracting Ghilan'nain long enough for Rook to get close and stand a fighting chance against her, but they won't survive the effort. This continues a long tradition of BioWare games allowing players to choose which of two characters makes the ultimate sacrifice in a pivotal mission.
Fortunately, choosing Harding won't affect companion approval; no one will resent Rook for sending her to her death, or for not picking Davrin instead.
