Location quests aren't generally the most fun things to do in games, but takes a different approach than Inquisition. Instead of giving players over a dozen locations scattered across multiple maps, spirits of the Dalish mementos are few and easy to do in one playthrough. You're going to find yourself appreciating Bioware for not insisting you spend hours upon hours on this one quest.
The search for spirits will take you to the Arlathan Forest and reward you with XP. You gain strength points with the Veil Jumpers, the faction you'll find in the Arlathan Forest. This is also the same area where you meet Bellara, a companion you can romance. This is well worth the effort; if you know where to go, it's pretty fast.
To start the Spirits of the Dalish quest, go through the main quest of until you finish the main quest. Once that's done, return to the, which will be Harding’s companion quest. You have to go through this, or you won't be able to get to the Rite at the end of this quest.

During that companion quest, you will eventually find yourself in Arlathan Forest to finish a spoiler-heavy part of that companion quest. Once done, go to the docks and head to the shipwreck to find a spirit.
