There are plenty of mysteries to solve and secrets to uncover in Alan Wake 2. Don’t forget to get to the bottom of Mayor Setter’s campaign, as it comes with a surprising revelation. Alan Wake 2 spoilers are below.
As you explore Bright Falls, you’ll likely notice all of Mayor Setter’s ad campaign. The ads are eye-catching, especially because despite the passionate campaign, it doesn’t seem like Mayor Setter has much competition. The game does give you hints along the way regarding who the mayor is, though it’s easy to not piece the story together if you’re not paying enough attention.
There are six Mayor Setter ads scattered throughout Bright Falls and Watery. You’ll find them on the parts of the map marked below.
By Return 6: Scratch, you will have access to all the ads, but don’t go any further, or else you’ll be locked out of full exploration. Find them all then head into Saga Anderson’s Mind Place where you’ll find a poster depicting the cutest dog. Go to Suomi Hall, and you’ll discover the dog on stage, waiting to be petted. That’s Mayor Setter!
It’s worth petting the dog, as you’ll earn the Nice Things in Life achievement, and you’ll score a charm that allows you to see all collectibles on the map. This is very useful to have if you’re aiming to 100% complete the game.
God, I’m convinced this is inspired by the town that has (or had?? Haven’t checked back in) a Dog Mayor and it’s amazing
