Doctor Strange 2 Footage Massively Expands Scope & Impact Of Multiverse
New footage of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals more details about the MCU's multiverse. In less than two weeks, Sam Raimi's film will hit theaters. And as part of Disney's final marketing push for the film, a fresh trailer has debuted during CinemaCon 2022, offering additional information about the movie's central theme: the multiverse.
The concept of the multiverse was previously touched upon in Doctor Strange and Ant-Man. It was also a factor in Avengers: Endgame. But Marvel Studios is delving deeper into it in MCU Phase 4 with projects such as WandaVision, Loki, Marvel's What If...?, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness puts it at the core of its storytelling as the Benedict Cumberbatch-led sequel actually travels through multiple realities. Joining Doctor Strange in the highly anticipated blockbuster are a few familiar MCU faces such as Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong). Meanwhile, it will introduce a brand new Avenger in America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Part of Disney's CinemaCon 2022 panel included a Marvel Studios-centric presentation. MCU architect Kevin Feige debuted brand new footage for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which reveals more information about the movie. The clip shows Sacred Timeline Doctor Strange having a nightmare about fighting a fire monster with America. Later on, the main Doctor Strange and Wong meet America Chavez, who claims that his dreams are events from an alternate universe.
