In Digimon Survive, players can befriend new Digimon by talking with them and then asking to become friends, with each response that they give during the preceding conversation having an impact on whether or not their friendship request will be accepted.

Each Digmon that players encounter will respond better to a certain attitude, meaning that it's important for players to think carefully about their responses each time they opt to talk to a foe. Betamon, for example, is one of the more gentle monsters in Digimon Survive and so the best Betamon responses will need to take this into account.
When players opt to talk to a Digimon in Digimon Survive, a short conversation will ensue. At three points during this conversation, they'll need to provide responses to questions or statements and will be given four different options from which to do so. Picking the best response will lead to them gaining two points, with four or more points needed in order to get a chance to befriend a Digimon or ask it for an item once the conversation ends.
When it comes to Betamon, players should look to respond in the most peaceful and respectful way possible as this is very much in line with the Digimon's moral code. Betamon respects righteousness but would rather avoid physical conflict where possible.
