's Season 7 is now live, bringing quite a few changes, including the new Witchcraft Power system. This system lets you use up to six Witch Powers at a time, which you can upgrade for even more power. If you played during the Season of Blood, you'll notice that this system is similar to the Vampiric Powers you had access to. This time, you can only have six powers at once, but getting and upgrading them is relatively straightforward.
Seasons in have you create a new character and start from Level 1, but Seasons tend to have ways for you to upgrade your character that are normally not available for a standard character. You can also earn rewards for completing tasks and making progress in the seasonal campaign. For the Season of Witchcraft, you'll need to collect Restless Rot and Grim Favors to increase your power, unlock and upgrade your Witchcraft Powers. Luckily, the campaign quests help you out with this.
To unlock Witchcraft Powers, you need to complete some quests that make up the beginning of the Season 7 campaign. This starts with a task to speak with Gelena in Gea Kul. You can find her right next to the Waypoint. After she speaks a few lines of dialogue, you can interact with her and start the season's campaign in earnest. The first set of tasks have you search for the source of the rot, find a head, and then travel to the Tree of Whispers with Gelena.
These tasks teach you about the Coven's Favor, which are rewards you'll earn as you increase your reputation through world quests. You'll also be able to interact with the altars that are by the Tree of Whispers. There are four altars: Altar of the Eldritch, Altar of the Psyche, Altar of Growth, and Forgotten Altar. Each one will give you powers associated with its name, with theForgotten Altar giving you Lost Powers. The altars for Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth abilities are all found at the Tree of Whispers.
