Blizzard and Nvidia are aware of reports that Diablo 4 is bricking graphics cards, saying that they are investigating the matter. This comes as complaints fill the Blizzard forums and the Diablo subreddit, with PC players saying their GPUs were fried after playing the Diablo 4 beta.
This also comes as Blizzard is hyping up the next Diablo beta, letting thousands of more fans try out the game before its release later today. Many PC fans are asking if they should even bother installing the beta before the issue with Nvidia GPUs has been addressed, and it's not yet clear if that's advisable.

"The Diablo 4 team has been investigating the reports of GPU issues mentioned in this thread and elsewhere online," says a customer support representative on the Blizzard forums. "The team is working closely with Nvidia to identify affected hardware configurations and gather as many data points as possible to assist in the investigation."
While reports of GPUs not being able to handle Diablo 4 are widespread, it's only one particular model that is apparently giving up altogether. GeForce RTX 3080 Ti seems to be causing the most significant issues, bricking the GPU altogether. And almost always in the same cutscene.
"While playing Diablo for about 20 minutes, during a cutscene in the chapel, my monitors turned off," says Reddit user mkp0203. "Had to restart my PC and motherboard is now posting error code 97. Nothing is working. My GPU is dead."
They're far from the only user with a 3080 Ti, with many on the Blizzard forums reporting the same issues with their cards.
