In the wake of ‘s upcoming release date, producer Clyde Phillips has come out to share the filming and premiere schedule of. Having served as the showrunner for 2006’s Dexter (seasons 1-4) and its subsequent spin-off, Dexter: New Blood, Phillips is once again returning to run things for Original Sin and Resurrection. In a recent interview, he finally divulged when fans would be able to see Michael C. Hall reprise his role as the infamous serial killer in Resurrection.
According to the information provided by Phillips, Dexter: Resurrection will have a June 2025 release date.
The Get Real creator also conveyed that the series will begin filming in January of next year, per DiscussingFilm. “We start shooting the first week in January, and it airs in June of 2025,” Phillips revealed.
Notably, Phillips had previously reported the release window of Dexter: Resurrection to be the summer of 2025. As such, his latest update comes as no surprise to fans who have eagerly waited for Hall’s comeback as the cold-blooded murderer. Additionally, Marcos Siega will occupy the director’s chair for the first episode of Ressurection, as per Comic Book Resources.
Dexter: Resurrection will follow the events of New Blood, which basically served as an epilogue for Hall’s character following his misadventures in the original series. New Blood ended with Dexter’s son leaving him for the dead in the wintry wilderness of Iron Lake. As of now, it is unknown how the iconic serial killer will make a return in Resurrection after supposedly meeting his end in his last outing.
Despite confirming Hall’s return in Resurrection at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, Phillips noted, “I have three words for you: Dexter is dead. I wouldn’t do that to the audience. It would be dishonest.”
While there is still time for Ressurection’s release date, fans of the franchise can bide their time by feasting on Dexter’s origin story in Original Sin, which will be released on Paramount+ on December 13, 2024.
