The upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, The Witch Queen, was recently teased with a brand new trailer that was chocked full of references to the game's lore and Easter eggs. The ongoing free-to-play multiplayer looter-shooter has remained incredibly popular even several years after its initial launch. Destiny 2 will continue to remain popular as the game's life cycle enters a new era with the anticipated expansion.
The Witch Queen was announced as the next Destiny 2 expansion back in 2021. The sixth major expansion for Destiny 2, the Witch Queen promises to introduce loads of new content including new weapons, new raids, new loot, and a new location — Savathun's Throne World. Savathun, the eponymous Witch Queen, is sister to Destiny 2's God of War and the Taken King. The Taken King actually received his own expansion in the original Destiny, which saw players fighting in the Taken War to repel the Taken King's rampage of death and destruction. Now, players will face an even greater threat in The Witch Queen.

The latest trailer, which was shared on the Destiny 2 YouTube channel, shows how the player will need to track down the Witch Queen in order to recover the Light, which Savathun had stolen from the Vanguard. The Witch Queen taunts players, saying that this ordeal is nothing more than a game to her and showcases much of the new content and challenges Guardians will face. Player response has been quite positive to the trailer, with many calling it one of the best that Bungie has ever put out. And many, such as those at GameSpot, have noticed some interesting pieces of lore that are shown.
