The first look at Destiny 2's next significant expansion, Lightfall, is being teased by Bungie with a short trailer for next month's big reveal. After several expansions and updates, Destiny 2 has enabled both crossplay and free-to-play access to the game across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. The game attracts hundreds of thousands of players daily and continues to be one of the most active massive multiplayer games on the market. With Destiny 2: The Witch Queen launching last February, even more players flooded the game's servers to experience one of the most well-received campaigns the series has seen yet.
Destiny 2 fans receive a new expansion that dramatically alters the game almost every year. New weapons, locations, and collectibles are introduced, sometimes replacing older levels and loot. The Witch Queen's plot contained several reveals and twists for the Destiny series' complex story, which is so huge that several content creators have spent years breaking down and explaining Destiny's lore. Bungie has previously shown a roadmap for Destiny 2's next few years, with two expansions following The Witch Queen titled Lightfall and The Final Shape. Although the developer has teased that The Final Shape will end the current Light and Darkness Saga, more Destiny 2 is planned to continue afterwards with a new saga. A new teaser reveals that fans should be receiving a peek into the sci-fi shooter's future sooner than anticipated.
