Destiny 2's Latest Trailer for 'The Final Shape' Explores the Depths of The Traveler
mmorpg.comBungie’s ramping things up for Destiny 2: The Final Shape ahead of its June 4 release date with a new trailer that shows off more of the upcoming expansion.
Titled ‘Journey into The Traveler,’ the two minute trailer, which is narrated by Nathan Filliion reprising his role as Cayde-6, gives us a look at some of the various areas players will be able to explore inside The Traveler. This includes the Pale Heart, which Bungie describes as a mysterious world that begins as a “light-filled paradise” only to give way to a “distressing land of darkness.” In the expansion, players will be tasked with confronting the Witness, who has corrupted the Traveler and seeks to enact its Final Shape.
It’s unclear how Cayde-6 has returned after his death in Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion, but his narration is decidedly different from his typical jokey demeanor, taking a much more serious tone. Cayde-6 isn’t the only friendly face players can look forward to seeing in The Final Shape. Recognizable characters Savathun, Caiatl, and Mithrax are also featured here and while Caiatl and Mithrax are former enemies turned allies, the alliance with Savathun against the Witness has always been an uneasy one.
We’ll have to see how it all plays out when the story concludes in June.
