The release of Destiny 2's major new raid, The Vow of the Disciple, has proven to be a major success for both Bungie and the game's community, with exciting loot, fun puzzle mechanics, and tense boss fights, especially with Contest Mode still enabled. As streamers flock to play the Witch Queen raid, some of their adventures are proving to be particularly thrilling.
While Destiny 2 is no stranger to epic boss fights, the titular Disciple of the pyramid raid, Rhulk, is a particularly aggressive example. With fast, aggressive attacks, an unexpectedly agile move-set, and tight DPS phases that leave no room for mistakes, dealing with Rhulk is a highlight of the new raid. One particular fireteam managed to kill the boss almost by accident, thanks to a very specific Exotic.

The Vow of the Disciple's Destiny 2 Twitch streams were extremely popular, and Vinlie was streaming his fireteam's attempts at completing the raid, too. Vinlie's team dealt with the majority of the raid relatively easily, from the early progression puzzles all the way to the Caretaker boss. Rhulk itself, however, very nearly took all six Guardians down with just a sliver of health left, only for one player's well-placed Witherhoard grenade to take the Disciple down after the entire fireteam had already been killed off.
What's particularly noteworthy about this situation is that the wipe screen was already in effect when Rhulk was killed. With just two seconds left on the timer, Vinlie's fireteam was practically sure that they had wasted their chance at taking the final boss down, only for the sticky Witherhoard grenade to take off the final sliver of Rhulk's health in a ridiculously lucky clutch.
