Dratnos and Tettles are recapping Day 4 of the Race to World First, which includes breaking down the current wall in the raid, Mythic Halondrus. Day 4 of the Race to World First concludes with Halondrus reaching 50% for Echo! This boss has turned into a true wall boss, with both Liquid (best pull 55% as of this recording) and Echo having over 100 pulls and no end in sight.
Meanwhile, SK Pieces have joined the two titans on the boss, while Method and BDGG are hot on their heels and hope to have Lihuvim downed soon. In this recap, Dratnos and Tettles explain the back and forth events of the day, with a focus on the Liquid and Echo perspectives.
The two great guilds took turns gaining slight leads on Halondrus, after Liquid took down World First on Lihuvim while Echo slept. Both guilds used some similar ideas to defeat Lihuvim, with Mass Entanglement and Entangling Roots from Moonkins handling the fixating adds, and burst DPS handling the other ones.
The two guilds did diverge on how they handled the Unstable Motes, with Liquid placing them out of the way of the raid and Echo instead placing them in tightly knit formation in order to clear them all with each cast of Deconstructing Blast. This difference highlights a core philosophical difference between the two guilds, with Echo tending to prefer executing complicated but effective plans while Liquid instead opts to react on the fly and improvise.
