Caliban's Hand is a new Exotic gauntlet armor piece for Hunters in Destiny 2, and it has the potential to become one of the best Exotics to use alongside a Solar 3.0 build. While wearing Caliban's Hand, Hunters will gain access to the Roast 'Em Exotic perk that improves the ignite functionality of the Proximity Knife. Specifically, the Proxminity Knife scorches targets it damages with its explosions, or ignites targets on a direct hit. Additionally, Hunters gain increased melee regeneration until the Proximity Knife explodes after throwing it.

Caliban's Hand is just one of a few Exotic armor pieces that players can use to create the best Hunter Solar 3.0 builds in Destiny 2. Some players have reported that the effects of Caliban's Hand do not always work as intended, such as igniting a target on a direct hit, suggesting that it may be challenging to activate. Without Caliban's Hand, the Proximity Knife will still explode but it doesn't apply scorch stacks or cause ignite to take effect. When the Exotic gauntlet is equipped, Hunter should consider equipping Fragments like Ember of Solace, Torchers, Singeing, Searing, and Empyrean. Together, these Fragments will help recharge the Class Ability when targets are scorched, recharge the Proximity Knife on kills, apply the radiant effect whenever targets are hit by the knife, and increase the duration of radiant whenever kills are made with the knife. For activities like the new Duality dungeon in Destiny 2, this kind of synergy is critical for survivability.
