Jenny was in a long-distance relationship with Indian man Sumit for almost 10 years before the show but that isn’t the most interesting part of their story. Jenny had met Sumit on Facebook while he was catfishing her as Michael Jones. But neither did Sumit’s lie nor their 30-year age gap stop Jenny from marrying him.
Jenny first moved to India to stay with Sumit on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 but soon learned that he was already married. Sumit’s divorce took a long time, and he developed a fear of marriage due to the problems he faced with his wife and his strict parents. Jenny Slatten's stay in India was getting difficult because of her expired tourist visa, but eventually, in season 3, the couple defied societal norms and tied the knot. While fans were happy for Jenny, many gave her flak for pursuing a younger man, mocked her looks, and kept asking her to break up with “scammer” Sumit and to go back to America.
