As a franchise, Dragon Ball is famous for its power creep, where each subsequent villain that gets introduced needs to be stronger than the last, and pose even more of a threat to a greater number of people. This has been seen time and time again going all the way back to Dragon Ball’s early days where the first major antagonists were mostly just selfish narcissists and more recent ones are closer to literal gods. Super Dragon Ball Heroes has followed this trend and taken it one step further with a character who might even surpass the Omni King Zeno himself.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes has recently been exploring the heavenly bureaucracy that permeates Dragon Ball’s world by introducing characters who seek to challenge the divine order of things. Some would say that this first began with the introduction of Goku Black, but another character, Hearts — who openly defied Zeno — was a defining point in the series’ history. Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultra God Mission picks this thread back up by introducing a Tournament of Power parallel, the Super Space-Time Tournament, created by a shadowy figure pulling the strings of multiple timelines as they fight for survival. This mysterious character is later revealed to be Aeos, the former Supreme Kai of Time.
