Bungie is giving all players access to several Destiny 2 expansions for a limited time. This is meant to help players prepare for the new Final Shape expansion coming in June. The upcoming Destiny 2 expansion comes with a new subclass, new overhauls, a new enemy faction, and the conclusion of the ongoing narrative arc.
A little over a year ago, in the Lightfall expansion, Bungie added a new subclass to the game called Strand, with new traversal mechanics and new gear introduced to Destiny 2, while also setting up the game's ongoing story arc for its epic conclusion in The Final Shape. Players can make it easier on themselves by looking forward to sales for the expansion packs in order to experience all Destiny 2 has to offer.
Starting on May 7 and ending on June 3, access to the expansions Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen is available to all players. PlayStation Plus members also get access to the most recent Lightfall expansion. These expansions allow players to participate in three extra raids, unlock new exotic weapons, gear, and more. In addition to the expansions, all the seasonal content from Destiny Year 6 is available to all players. This includes the Season of Defiance, the Season of the Deep, the Season of the Witch, and the Season of the Wish. All players who play through these expansions and seasons will be able to keep the weapons and gear they have earned after the free period.
Destiny 2 has had its highest player count on Steam in a while, as fans anticipate The Final Shape. Players who wish to take advantage of Destiny 2’s surge in popularity also have the chance to purchase the Lightfall + Annual Pass bundle at a discount. The discount starts today on the Playstation Store, Xbox Store, and Epic Games Store, with it being discounted on Steam on May 21. This discount will last until June 3, before the launch of the Final Shape expansion, which gives players more ways to prepare themselves for what the Witness has in store for them.
