In a new preview for DC Comics' Nightwing, Dick Grayson proves he's the Bat-Family's true center over Batman himself. Featured in a never-before-seen flashback, a new moment from Grayson's time as Robin is revealed where he defies the wishes of the Dark Knight. However, what's truly interesting is how Batgirl responds based on the future Nightwing's decisions.

In recent issues of Nightwing from Tam Taylor and Bruno Redondo, Dick Grayson has been attempting to help his city with his mask off just as much as when he has it on as Blüdhaven's resident vigilante. Using the billions Nightwing inherited from the late Alfred Pennyworth, Dick has been trying to help the least fortunate, building a safety net to help his city rise above its darkness. However, this has put a significant target on Grayson's back from some of Blüdhaven's biggest crime bosses such as Blockbuster.

Thanks to this new flashback in the upcoming Nightwing #92, it's revealed that Dick Grayson has never been able to ignore someone in need. Even when Batman told the first Robin to wait before engaging with an angry mob trying to kill a shopkeeper, Dick Grayson ignored the Dark Knight and leapt into the fray. However, what's truly interesting is that Nightwing's actions motivated Barbara Gordon's Batgirl to ignore Batman as well, looking to help Dick and do the right thing regardless of the risk. It just goes to show that Dick Grayson has always had a strong influence over the rest of the Bat-Family, one that's likely as big if not bigger than Batman's.
