With many characters from the Netflix Daredevil series returning in, many fans are wondering if will also be back as. Here’s all you need to know about her potential comeback in the MCU.
Initially, it was just Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio who were confirmed to be back as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively. Later, Marvel revealed that not only will Jon Bernthal join them as Frank Castle/The Punisher, but Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and Bullseye will also be back.
So, Elektra is possibly the only one left whose return hasn’t been announced yet. Echo’s recent trailers hinted that Netflix’s three Daredevil seasons were canon to the main MCU. In that case, The Defenders would also be canon, which further diminishes the possibility of Elektra’s return since she died towards the end of the show.
But watching the Echo series, it didn’t exactly prove that Daredevil and other Marvel Netflix shows were canon. In fact, it showcased a few elements, such as Wilson Fisk’s hammer, to be different from Netflix’s Daredevil series. So, it’s still possible for Netflix’s Daredevil to be an alternate multiversal story with certain similar elements. If this is the case, then Elektra’s return in Daredevil: Born Again is possible.
In the past, she revealed that she’d “love to” return to the role. During a Fandom Spotlite virtual Wizard World panel in 2020, she said:
“Oh my God, I would love to. Especially since they’ve adjusted my costume. I would love to. Let me tell you, I love this character because she’s so complex and broken. She’s got a lot of villain in her, and that I can relate to, and also a lot of good. It’s such an amazing character. I would love for Marvel to bring her back.”
There are two ways Elektra could be brought back in Daredevil: Born Again. If the previous Marvel Netflix shows were canon, then perhaps Elektra could have survived The Defenders’ ending, similar to how Matt Murdock did, allowing her to make a potential comeback.
