CD Projekt RED outlined Cyberpunk 2077’s next big update, developed with the assistance of Virtuos in its latest REDstream. Update 2.2 is rolling out on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and the focus is on customization, from changing the colors of your cars to new Photo Mode options, Smart Frames, and additions to the character creator.
First is the RayField CrystalCoat, which allows for customizing your owned vehicle’s color. You can adjust hue and saturation and swap colors while driving. TwinTone allows for copying color schemes from other passing vehicles. Of course, this is more than just cosmetic – changing colors during a police chase may confuse pursuers searching for a different color tone (unless you get too close).
Auto Fixer is also getting ten new cars, eight from the base game and two from Phantom Liberty. If there’s a particular vehicle you’ve wanted to own (and stop stealing), now’s your chance. Perhaps one of the cooler changes is that Johnny Silverhand will also spawn in your vehicle, taking in the sights and commenting on your actions. This occurs about 25 percent of the time, and he won’t appear if another NPC is present or combat is ongoing. And yes, you can take shots with him in Photo Mode.
Stay tuned for more details on Update 2.2 and its new additions shortly.
