CD Projekt Red has confirmed that more details about Cyberpunk 2077's one and only major expansion are coming soon. Phantom Liberty will take the spotlight during Summer Game Fest on June 8, and we can expect the full start of the marketing campaign around the same time.
Following the announcement of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's impressive milestone of 50 million copies sold, the Polish developer has now dropped hints about the imminent release of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty in the coming months, currently expected to launch between June 8 and early July, if some sources are correct. As of now, the company has limited itself to just a small announcement that the expansion "will be present at Summer Game Fest: Play Days," possibly hinting that it is preparing to begin a full-fledged marketing campaign for the project. The "Play Days" part also seems to indicate that there is some kind of in-depth demonstration of the title planned for the event.

Knowing how desperate fans are to learn more, a new image of the expansion's star Idris Elba as agent Solomon Reed has been shared, providing a closer look at the character's appearance in greater detail. We still know very little about the upcoming DLC, including its official launch date, but that is about to change. As the expansion's highly anticipated release draws near, it appears that CD Projekt Red has opted for a more concise marketing campaign, drawing valuable lessons from the past instances of excessive hype.
