The Cyberpunk 2077 video game had a massive following leading up to the launch. While the game didn’t release with fan expectations, it forced the development team to scrap post-launch content plans. Instead, the developers focused on bringing the game up to their standards. After a series of updates and fixes, the game is in a far better state than when it initially launched. Fortunately, despite having to scrap plans and spend most of their time bringing the game back around, the developers over at CD Projekt Red are getting to release one expansion for the title.
We know that the expansion launching into the game will be Phantom Liberty. This video game campaign is placed within the base game campaign rather than being set as an epilogue storyline. Players will get to take on the role of their customized V and embark on another mission that will happen midway through the game campaign. With Phantom Liberty, we’re dealing with an espionage storyline that deals with saving the NUSA President. We also know that this expansion is going to unlock a new area to explore in Night City.
Dogtown will be the new area you’ll be venturing through. This area comes with new quests, gear, and characters to meet. Just how you forge alliances and decide to accomplish the missions ahead remains to be seen. However, we don’t have too long of a wait to endure before we’re able to dive into Phantom Liberty. The upcoming expansion is set to launch on September 26, 2023. However, don’t expect this expansion to land on all the platforms the Cyberpunk 2077 base game is available.
Instead, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is only for the latest-generation platforms. This means you must own Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series
