With Kuon down, it’s time to take on Pheles - one part of the dynamic Mephis/Pheles duo. She’s been playing you like a fiddle this whole time, and it’s time to get some revenge. Be warned, Pheles, unlike every other humanoid boss, is actually somewhat challenging and sidesteps the common weaknesses that plague the archetype.

Being one of Crystar’s evil masterminds, Pheles is no pushover. She has plenty of attacks, she has a bunch of tricks, and she is out to put you down. Grab your curatives, munch on some Panellets (maybe some Sfogliatella), and be ready to dodge.
Pheles has three attacks, and they are all telegraphed in the same way. It’s not really possible to differentiate which attack is coming your way, so the best thing to do is to just dodge towards her and hope for the best.
Her first attack is a rapid-fire projectile burst. Each burst will hit three times, and she throws out a fair few bursts. Individually, this attack won’t do much damage. Get caught by enough bursts, however, and you are going to feel it.
Secondly, she can quickly throw out two slow-moving projectiles that track Rei. These are identical to the ones used by Carneades, Anamnesis, and Bourbaki, however, they don’t come with any status ailments. These are particularly dangerous when you are locked in close combat as they come out quick, deal decent damage, and will knock you down on contact.
Pheles’ final trick is a projectile attack that fires in a fan pattern. This is pretty easy to dodge if you are far away from Pheles, but surprisingly dangerous when up close. It’s possible to take multiple hits at once if you are caught in the wrong place, and this can hurt.
Topping off her kit is her ability to teleport.
