Blizzard has responded to reports on the Classic Era PTR regarding disconnects while jumping, which has caused death for players. Blizzard recommends avoiding jumping during combat, as a fix will not be implemented until next week.

We are aware of this issue and hope to have a fix in for our build update next week. In the meantime please avoid jumping in combat as this is indeed caused by being stunned/rooted/otherwise CC’d in mid-air.Thanks for the report and condolences for the character death!.
