The Criminal Minds reboot is reportedly moving forward with a 10-episode order on Paramount+. It has been two years since the CBS police procedural ended its successful 15-season run. But due to its popularity, it didn't take long before Paramount put attempts for a revival in motion.
In 2021, the Criminal Minds reboot was announced as part of a bigger slate confirmation for Paramount+'s original content plan. The lack of movement on the project became a cause for concern for fans worried it might be dead in the water. That's until Paget Brewster shared a promising update, saying that the endeavor is very much alive and that the licensing deal is being worked on between ABC Studios and CBS, which was followed by an image shared by Joe Mantegna revealing him visiting the set for the Criminal Minds reboot being built. According to a new report from TV Line, Paramount+ put a 10-episode series order for the Criminal Minds reboot. Unfortunately, when the outlet reached out to the streamer for comment, it declined to give any response to the story.
Based on the progress of rebuilding the set for the Criminal Minds reboot image from Mantegna, it makes sense that Paramount+ has already given the project the go-ahead. After all, it wouldn't make sense for the series to start the re-construction of the BAU office if the series isn't moving forward. That's unless the streamer asked those involved for a pilot test that would determine whether or not to officially greenlit the revival.
