Core of Earth gives up hidden secrets on explosion of life!
Scientists from The United States have recently discovered some intriguing facts about the formation of the core of the Earth. As per reports, the solid inner core of the Earth was formed around 550 million years ago causing a sharp rise in the number of living multicellular creatures on our planet. As reported by The Guardian, there is a huge sphere of almost 2 thousand km diameter in the center of the Earth. This sphere is called the inner core which play a crucial role in evolution of life on earth. This layer is consists of iron and then there is the outer core, followed by the mantle, and above it, there’s the crust.
According to scientists, the inner core of the planet is growing slowly by about 1 mm annually. Initially, the core was liquid and hot, but it started cooling down and hardened. The inner core rotates and creates a strong magnetic field around the earth that protects our planet from harmful cosmic and solar radiation allowing the existance of life.
Scientists from the University of Rochester (New York, USA), after conducting a study, suggested that the appearance of a solid inner core is very crucial in the development of life on Earth. The report says that nearly 550 years ago, the Earth's magnetic field dropped its strength by 10% of the current magnetic field strength and regained its power abruptly leading to sudden proliferation of complex multicellular life on earth. This process is known as the Cambrian explosion on earth. All of this is recorded in the findings of the fossils. John Tarduno of the University of Rochester called this process an “explosion” in the evolution of life on the planet.
