First introduced in 2021, Contender Cards have since become a staple in the Guardian Games event of Destiny 2. If you’re curious about their function and acquisition process, you’re in the right place.
Contender Cards can be purchased from Eva Levante, the designated event vendor, in return for Laurels. However, it’s important to note that only one card can be in use at any given moment. You can locate Eva Levante in the central courtyard of the Tower.
The Contender Cards are a key part of the Guardian Games, providing a way for players to track their progress and compete with others. By completing activities such as Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit, players will be able to fill their Contender Cards, earning Gold Medals which can then be handed in, increasing their class score on that day. Gold Medals are worth 5 Points each.
A special Platinum Contender Card will focus on endgame content like Nightfalls, Trials, etc. This will allow players to earn Platinum medals with 15 Points. The contender cards also tie in to the podium ceremony that will take place every weekend while Guardian Games is ongoing.

To get the All-Star glow, players will need to complete and hand in their Platinum Contender Card before the daily reset on Friday to lock it in for the weekend.
