Concept art for Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 has reportedly appeared online
Concept art reportedly for the 2024 entry in the Call of Duty franchise has appeared online.
The images, which were allegedly datamined from a Call of Duty Warzone mobile test (via @RealiityUk) and can be viewed below, appear to be concept art for several maps from Treyarch‘s upcoming entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
Since the release of these images online, it’s been theorised that the game will be a sequel to Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, and could take place during the Gulf War, due to the inclusion of an F117 aircraft, which was popularised during the conflict.

These images, alongside several map images from the upcoming Modern Warfare 2, have appeared in the files of Warzone Mobile, leading to a large amount of data being uncovered.
Activision isreportedly skipping next year’s Call of Duty game, thus marking the first time in nearly 20 years it’s skipped an annual release.
According to Bloomberg, the company decided to delay the release of the next entry, which will be led by Treyarch, after last year’s Vanguard failed to meet expectations, “leading some executives to believe that they’re introducing new versions too rapidly”.
Call of Duty’s year off will coincide with Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, should the deal be completed as planned by summer 2023. However, Bloomberg claims this had no influence on the decision to delay next year’s game.
This year’s game, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, will release on October 28, 2022.
The publisher claims that it will feature a globe-trotting campaign, multiplayer and an “evolved” Special Ops mode.
