A Microsoft Store listing for EA Sports College Football 25 has revealed that the game will feature a 120 FPS performance option on Xbox, similar to the Madden franchise. It's not yet known whether EA Sports College Football 25's PS5 edition will feature a similar option, although it certainly seems possible.
Earlier in February, College Football 25 finally released a teaser trailer after being announced over three years ago. The trailer, which did not show any gameplay, revealed the game's logo and some of the teams and locations that will be featured in the anticipated title. EA also announced that a full reveal of College Football 25 is coming in May, which will presumably show off gameplay and various in-game features like the revamped Dynasty Mode.
As fans eagerly await College Football 25's full reveal, Reddit user Bigkyfan10 noticed that «120 fps» is listed under the Capabilities section on the game's Microsoft Store page. This seems to suggest that the game will feature two graphics options, one that prioritizes graphics and is capped at 60 FPS, and one that prioritizes performance and is capped at 120 FPS. This probably doesn't come as a huge surprise to fans of Madden, which has included these options for a couple of years. However, it's still up in the air whether College Football 25's PS5 version will also feature a 120 FPS option. Madden's PS5 edition doesn't actually support 120 FPS, so it's possible that College Football 25 will follow the same path.
Last week, EA revealed a bunch of new details regarding College Football 25. The game will include all 134 FBS teams, all bowl games, and the new playoff format. Although it will run on the same engine as Madden, EA claimed that College Football 25 will have a distinct look and feel. Part of this will come from EA's attention to detail regarding college football environments. The company gathered recordings, renderings, and more to recreate each stadium's gameday environment as accurately as possible.
