A new behind-the-scenes image from Clerks III shows writer/director Kevin Smith planning a rooftop hockey game. The upcoming comedy serves as the long-awaited sequel to Smith's 1994 original and its 2006 follow-up, which focus primarily on two convenience store (then later fast-food restaurant) employees in New Jersey. Set to be released theatrically on September 13, 2022, Clerks III will see the return of Jeff Anderson and Brian O'Halloran as Randal and Dante respectively, in addition to other series stars Jason Mewes, Trevor Fehrman, Rosario Dawson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, and Smith himself as Silent Bob. Smith, aware of the original film's cult following and the overall support of the series, has been actively keeping fans up to date on the new project through social media since he first confirmed its reprisal back in 2019. The official trailer for Clerks III dropped just a few days ago and reintroduces fans to familiar sights and characters. Notably, it features a glimpse at a hockey game on top of the Quick Stop, reminding some of a classic scene from the 1994 film.
