Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers – Dario Boss Guide
Dario is an optional boss in the Forbidden Island of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition that players can defeat to acquire the Mastermune, the strongest weapon for Serge. This weapon is one of the best pieces of gear for facing Criosphinx, the ultimate boss of Chrono Cross. However, before fans can encounter Dario as an opponent, they must first recruit a close acquaintance of Dario, a spellcaster named Riddel. Having her in the active party in Chrono Crossis mandatory during this specific boss battle. Additionally, beating Dario in combat will unlock Riddel's Level 7 Tech Skill, Snake Fangs.
As a Black Elemental boss in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, Dario is a potent counter against White-inmate allies, including Riddel and Serge. Therefore, his high attack power and powerful Tech Skills can potentially take down a party member within a single turn. However, one way to avoid such a disaster is by equipping a character with the Black Plate.

The Black Plate is a Special Armor and a must-have piece of equipment for facing Dario in Chrono Cross. Similar to the White or Yellow Plates, the Black Plate Armor is capable of absorbing Black-innate attacks, restoring its wearer's HP. The only way to get the Black Plate in Chrono Cross is by using Fargo to Pillage the Black Dragon in Marbule (Another World). The Black Dragon boss battle in Chrono Crossis challenging but can be easily overcome by casting magic-resisting skills such as Diminish at the start of the fight.
