Chicago PD Star On Burgess & Ruzek's Future After Season 9 Finale

Fans will have to wait until Chicago PD season 10 to learn about the fate of Adam Ruzek and Kim Burgess. The NBC series' on-and-off couple has been trying to do the right thing for Makayla, Kim's adopted daughter, but that forces them to fully re-examine their relationship and decide what the future lies for them. Burgess and Ruzek's romantic link dates all the way back to Chicago PD season 1 and they're arguably the original love pairing in the show as Erin Lindsay and Jay Halstead's connection never really fully materialized.
Ruzek and Burgess' relationship has gone through a lot of ups and downs — at one point, they were even engaged to be married. But even though they have long separated, they can't seem to fully quit each other. The arrival of Makayla opens the door again for them to reconcile, especially since they almost had a baby of their own. Unfortunately for audiences, Ruzek and Burgess' fate won't be disclosed until Chicago PD comes back on the air.

In an interview with EW, Patrick Flueger talks about his character's relationship with Burgess in the show after Ruzek offered to buy her and Makayla a house — his childhood home, no less. But with no definitive answer from Burgess yet and theChicago PD season 9 finale focused on resolving Intelligence's crackdown on Los Teminos, viewers will have to wait until fall to find out about what's next for the couple.
