We’re not sure when Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update will arrive, but we’ve already had a sneak peek of what’s to come. Recently, developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone returned to give us another tease as to what we might be getting in the hit farming simulator.
In a recent post on Twitter, the creative mind behind Stardew Valley has suggested that the game is going to be getting cats and dogs…wearing hats.

As you can imagine, many commenting under the post are positively giddy with cuteness overload, with one user referring to it as “the greatest moment in gaming history.” While we don’t yet know whether these headgear-dawning animals will appear in the next update, it’s possible we could see them in version 1.6.
The Twitter post has even prompted a reply from Whitney “Cenx” Spinks, the producer behind Re-Logic’s Terraria. The message asks Barone to confide in a private message about the next patch’s release date. In return, Cenx says they’ll spill the beans on the release date for 1.4.5 of Terraria.
Who knows whether such an exchange will take place. In any case, a lot of people seem excited about the possibility of seeing a fedora-wearing canine walking about in Stardew Valley.
Barone has said that update 1.6 will only be releasing once they deem it ready (which is novel for this modern gaming industry). Whenever it does roll out, look forward to a new festival, more dialogue, winter outfits for villagers, new secrets, and more.
