Warning: Spoilers ahead for Carnage #3.
The Carnage symbiote is known as being one of the deadliest in the Marvel Universe, but the comics are hinting that he might be reunited with his original host, Cletus Kasady, in a new way.
After he was spawned from Venom, the Carnage symbiote latched onto the serial killer Cletus Kasady. Together, the two of them became a menacing force that murdered their way through the Marvel Universe. As the symbiote god Knull prepared his invasion of Earth, Cletus Kasady died during the events of Absolute Carnage. But the Carnage symbiote managed to live on without a host. It's currently absorbing power from various supervillains and positioning Carnage to become a god killer.

But Cletus Kasady is not completely gone. In Carnage #3, which is written by Ram V and illustrated by Rogê Antônio, it's revealed that Kasady's mind lives on within the detective that had a close encounter with Carnage. Detective Jonathan Shayde is hearing a voice inside his head. The voice taunts him and when the detective finally talks back, the voice tells him to call him «Cletus.» The detective doesn't immediately know that he is speaking to the former host of the Carnage symbiote, but as the series goes on, that revelation will be inevitable.
As a detective continues to hunt the Carnage symbiote, it will be interesting to see if Cletus Kasady reunites with his longtime symbiote. If that's the case, it will make for an intriguing reversal of the symbiote-host relationship. Usually, symbiotes cannot create a physical body, which is why they need hosts, but Carnage has managed to do just that. So if Kasady would merge with Carnage, he would be the voice
