Few heroes more powerful than Captain Marvel, who is perhaps the strongest Avenger on the team, and while her base power level is astronomical, her strongest form makes Captain Marvel the ultimate Avenger–though that transformation is absolutely disgusting.
Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel after she activated her latent powers passed down to her by her mother’s Kree heritage. Once her superhuman abilities revealed themselves, Carol gained the ability to fly, shoot photon blasts, and survive in any environment throughout the cosmos. While many of Captain Marvel’s heroic adventures take place in the furthest reaches of space, when she's on Earth she is a valuable member of the Avengers and has been a consistent on-again-off-again member for many years. However, in one of her darker storylines, Captain Marvel is forced to kill the Avengers to hopefully save the lives of countless innocence–a shocking chain of events that leads her to undergo an incredibly powerful, and super gross metamorphosis.

In Captain Marvel #16 by Kelly Thompson and Lee Garbett, Captain Marvel goes head-to-head with the cosmic villain Vox Supreme after she completes her despicable mission of killing every member of the Avengers–at least, that’s what Vox Supreme thinks. Earlier in this storyline, Vox Supreme kidnaps Captain Marvel and forces her into a symbiote-like costume that tracks her every movement.
