Celebrate the holidays with undead Santa in Warzone.
By Eddie Makuch on
It's beginning to look a lot like the holidays, and that means a winter-themed event is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone through the Season 1 update that launches on December 6. Activision has announced a new mode for Warzone called Santa's Slayground, and it sounds incredible.
In this mode, «Zombie Santa» appears and players must work together to take him down. Players can also go hunting for zombie deer, open presents under special holiday trees on the map, and take part in themed challenges and events, which pay out special rewards.
Activision also said snowballs are being added to Warzone for the Santa's Slayground event, and that sounds like a lot of fun too.
Beyond Warzone, Activision said Modern Warfare III's multiplayer will add «festive and themed maps and events» later in the year to celebrate the holidays.
All of this is in keeping with tradition for Activision, as the company regularly updates Call of Duty each holiday season with special events themed around Christmas, Santa, and the holidays. Fans will surely recall how Krampus, a mythical creature meant to scare children, invaded Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone matches years ago, terrorizing players to no end.
Modern Warfare III and Warzone's Season 1 update arrives on December 6 and also brings new core multiplayer maps, adds the next Zombies mission, and--perhaps the biggest update of all--is the introduction of a brand-new Warzone map called Urzikstan.
