Call of Duty: Vanguard was the best-selling game of 2021, but its sales numbers were still a disappointment compared to previous games in the Call of Duty series. Thanks to the lackluster response to Call of Duty: Vanguard, Activision is putting all its weight behind the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, ramping up marketing for the game months ahead of when it first started promoting Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War.
Activision has not revealed all that much about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just yet. It has confirmed that the game is in development at Infinity Ward, it will be a direct sequel to 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, and it is being built alongside a new Warzone experience. No gameplay or anything else has been shown, and all fans have seen from it is the new Modern Warfare 2 logo. Despite this, one Call of Duty pro has supposedly heard bad things about the new game.

Call of Duty pro player Censor has claimed that his sources have said that Modern Warfare 2 is «sh**.» Censor said that this information has come from sources that he trusts, but stopped short of revealing their identity. Despite this, Censor has said that he remains «cautiously optimistic» about the 2022 Call of Duty game, so fans will have to wait for the reveal to happen so they can come to a determination themselves.
Some other Call of Duty pros and streamers called Censor out on social media, so it's hard to say how legitimate his claims are.
