Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play mode has finally launched following a slight delay, allowing players to begin progressing through its skill divisions and earning the mode's exclusive rewards. January 17's Season 1 Reloaded update introduced major bugs to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 that led to the mode's release being pushed back.
Call of Duty's newest content update created game-breaking issues that affected the game's Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies modes. This led Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play mode to be delayed until a future date. Call of Duty's announcement regarding this matter was vague as to when the mode's eventual release would be, so some users worried that it would be days or weeks until Ranked Play finally launched. However, Call of Duty fans just got some relieving news.
The official CODUpdates Twitter account announced that Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play mode is now live. Fans ofCall of Duty's competitive scene can finally jump into matches using the same settings, modes, and maps used by the Call of Duty League. Players will need to be level 55 or higher to participate in the new mode. All items are unlocked when creating Ranked Play loadouts; however, many items and weapons that have been deemed uncompetitive are restricted in Ranked Play. Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play utilizes its own level system that consists of «Ranks,» which reflect a user's overall experience in the mode, and «Skill Divisions,» which reflect a user's skill during a given season. Additionally, Ranked Play users can unlock exclusive rewards including camos, skins, weapon blueprints, and more as they win matches and work their way up the ranks.
Ranked Play users should note that friendly fire is enabled during the mode's 4v4 matches.
