Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's multiplayer elements will be free for an entire week, Activision has announced. To mark the recent launch of Season 3, Activision is offering a selection of the game's multiplayer content free from April 19-26.
This includes multiplayer maps and 12 modes. Players can check out one of the new Season 3 maps, Pelayo's Lighthouse, along with some of the best core maps that were already available such as Farm 18, Shoothouse, and Shipment.
In terms of modes, players will be able to try out Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Gun Game, Infected, and the larger-scale modes like Invasion and Ground War. You can see all the supported maps and modes in the image below.
Modern Warfare II's free multiplayer week begins April 19 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and ends on April 26 at the same time. File sizes will vary by platform, so Activision advised players to visit their preferred platform to get all the specifics. After April 26, free players will need to buy the game outright to keep playing, or they can jump into the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.
The Season 3 launch also made changes to DMZ that players criticized for creating a «pay-to-win» scenario, but as of yet, Activision has not announced plans to address these criticisms.
