In January, Call of Duty dataminers revealed an assortment of Warhammer 40K-themed content found within the game's files, such as new medals and loading screens. Many took this to mean that a future crossover event would likely feature Warhammer 40K as Call of Duty's next collaboration, and some dataminers suggested that the unique medals could signify a new mode that would be introduced alongside it. However, this remained nothing more than a possibility until recently.
Call of Duty's Twitter account posted a tweet confirming that a Warhammer 40K crossover is coming soon and will feature the franchise's Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, Astra Militarum, and more as skins. The tweet also includes a short video that shows what appears to be a dead Space Marine lying on the ground in front of the castle on Warzone's Fortune's Keep map. Call of Duty has not offered any additional details or a launch date for the event yet, but fans can expect more info to probably come out in the coming weeks. However, thanks to dataminers, users can already get a glimpse into what the event will offer.
Another Call of Duty leak revealed additional details of the Warhammer 40K crossover by showing two Space Marine skins being previewed in-game. The skins are surprisingly bulky and have a similar silhouette to Call of Duty's Juggernaut killstreaks, leading some to wonder whether the crossover's supposed game mode will feature Juggernaut-centric gameplay. This possibility was backed up by the skins' names within the files, which are tagged with «juggernaut.» However, the nature of the unannounced game mode is only speculation at this point.
