Brujah are the first of four playable clans to be revealed for Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 since developer The Chinese Room took over the game's development.
If you're getting a sense of deja vu reading this, that's because Brujah were the first playable clan to be revealed for the game four years ago when Bloodlines 2 was still under development at Hardsuit Labs. The fierce Brujah are a staple and popular clan in the tabletop version of the game, so it comes as no surprise that they are returning here.
Bloodlines 2 was always a long shot, with fans of the cult classic RPG hoping for a sequel for decades after the original game's release in 2004, but perhaps never expecting it to actually materialize. Then, on March 21, 2019 Bloodlines 2 was officially revealed to be in development at Hardsuit Labs, with some key personnel returning from the original team at Troika, such as lead writer Brian Mitsoda and composer Rik Schaffer. Things went downhill from there, with Mitsoda and creative director Ka'ai Cluney fired in 2020 and the subsequent removal of Hardsuit Labs from the project entirely in 2021.
Paradox signed on a new developer in 2021, but kept the identity of the developer under wraps until the game was ready to be re-revealed at PAX West this past September.
