Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently shared her reaction to the script for the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels. Ever since her debut in Captain Marvel, Larson’s Danvers has been one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes. Taking a step away from Earth after the events of her debut film to help a species of alien, the Skrulls, locate a new home, Danvers returned to Earth during the events of Avengers: Endgame at the request of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) before he was snapped out of existence by Thanos (Josh Brolin). Uniting with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Danvers used the powers she absorbed from the Space Stone/Tesseract during Captain Marvel to assist in the defeat of Thanos during Endgame’s climactic final battle.
Although Danvers recently appeared in a cameo in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings and was referenced by her late best friend’s daughter, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), throughout WandaVision, Larson’s Captain Marvel’s whereabouts following the events of Endgame are unknown. While it’s confirmed that Larson will be at the forefront of The Marvels, she’ll be joined there by Parris’s Rambeau and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan. Ms. Marvel has not yet appeared on-screen in the MCU, but is set to debut in her own Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, later in 2022. Larson’s Danvers is rumored to have a role in the upcoming Ms. Marvel series, so some answers about her may come to the surface before The Marvels.
